Featured in SHRM: How Mindfulness Prevents Burnout in the Workplace

I’m honored to share that I was recently featured in SHRM’s HR Quarterly, where I was invited to speak on a topic that is deeply important to me, Mindfulness as a burnout prevention tool.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is one of the most respected global authorities on workplace well-being and professional development, reaching more than 300 million workers worldwide. To be included in an article that highlights the growing importance of psychological safety, empathy, and support in work environments is both a privilege and a joy.

In the article, “HR’s Guide to Mindfulness as a Burnout Prevention Tool,” I offered insight on how organizations can implement mindfulness in ways that feel natural and sustainable rather than performative or forced:

“Integrate mindfulness as part of the workflow—not an add-on. A few minutes before meetings or short guided breaks can reduce resistance and build a culture of presence without disrupting productivity.”

This message is at the heart of what I teach through the Transformation Through Joy (TTJ) Method. Over the years, I’ve seen how stress, overwhelm, and emotional exhaustion affect people at every level—students, parents, executives, and entrepreneurs alike.

As someone who has personally balanced multiple careers and caregiving responsibilities while leading several wellness initiatives, I know firsthand how vital it is to make personal well-being part of everyday life. Professionally, I’ve also seen how intentional mindfulness can save companies money, preserve morale, and protect their most valuable asset: their people.

That’s why I created the TTJ Method—to make growth, resilience, and emotional wellness easier to access and maintain. Whether in corporate settings, classrooms, or homes, the results are transformative: improved focus, steadier emotions, stronger teams, and more joy at work and in life.
